Emergency Contraception

Emergency Contraception

Emergency Hormonal Contraception, also known as the morning after pill, is available to discreetly purchase, without a prescription, at all of our pharmacies. Our pharmacies carry both common morning-after pills Levonelle and EllaOne.

Depending on the region a number of our pharmacies are also able to make supplies free of charge where funding from the local authorities is available. The availability and eligibility of these services will vary from area to area.

Emergency Hormonal Contraception is more effective the earlier it is taken but can be taken up to 72 hours or even 120 hours after unprotected intercourse, depending on the type of morning-after pill recommended.

The pharmacist will discuss your concerns and your request for the morning after pill in one of our private consultation areas where patient confidentiality can be maintained. If our pharmacist is unable to help, a referral will be made to a GP or a Family Planning Clinic.
