- Use clean sections of the floss as you move from tooth to tooth.
- Gently slide the floss between your teeth using a back-and-forth motion, being careful not to snap it into your gums.
- Cut off about 45 cm (18 inches) of floss and wind it around your middle fingers, leaving about 5 cm (2 inches) of floss to work with.
- Curve the floss around each tooth in a "C" shape and gently move it up and down to remove plaque and debris.
- Repeat until all your teeth have been cleaned, including the back teeth.
