This medicine will only work if used on a regular basis and may not help your symptoms straight away, it can help some people in the first day however it can take a few days for other people for it to get into the system.
What is allergic rhinitis?
Allergic rhinitis is inflammation of the inside of the nose caused by an allergen, such as pollen, dust, mould or flakes of skin from certain animals.
It is a very common condition, which is estimated to affect around 1 in every 5 people in the UK.
What are the symptoms of allergic rhinitis?
Allergic rhinitis typically causes cold-like symptoms, such as:
- Sneezing.
- Itchiness.
- Blocked or runny nose.
Some people may only suffer with allergic rhinitis for a few months at a time because they are sensitive to season allergens, such as tree or grass pollen. Other people can suffer from this all year round.
What causes allergic rhinitis?
Allergic rhinitis is caused by the immune system reacting to an allergen as if it were harmful.
This results in cells releasing a number of chemicals that cause the inside layer of your nose to become swollen and too much mucus to be produced.
Common allergens that cause allergic rhinitis include pollen (this is known as hayfever), as well as mould, house dust mites, and flakes of skin or droplets of urine or saliva from certain animals.
Direction for use:
Adults and children over 12 years of age:
The usual starting dose is 2 sprays in each nostril each day.
Once the symptoms of allergy are under control, the dose may be lowered to 1 spray in each nostril each day.
Nasacort Contains:
Triamcinolone Acetonide, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Carmellose Sodium, Polysorbate 80, Purified Water, Glucose Anhydrous, Benzalkonium Chloride, Edetate Disodium and Hydrochloric Acid or Sodium Hydroxide.
Caution:
Do not take if you are allergic to Triamcinolone Acetonide or any of the other ingredients listed in this medicine.
Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breast feeding.
