These sore throat lozenges contain lidocaine, a local anaesthetic that helps soothe throat pain, and amylmetacresol plus 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, well-established antiseptics that work to help combat infection.

What causes a sore throat?
Sore throats are usually caused by viruses like cold or flu or even from smoking.
Very occasionally they can be caused by bacteria.
A sore throat can also be caused by:
- Laryngitis.
- Tonsillitis.
- Strep throat (a bacterial throat infection)
- Glandular Fever.
How To Use:
Adults and children over the age of 12: Dissolve one lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2 to 3 hours up to a maximum of 8 lozenges over 24 hours.
Do not dissolve in the sack of the cheek.
Ingredients:
Active Ingredients: Lidocaine hydrochloride 2 mg, Amylmetacresol 0.6 mg and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol 1.2 mg.
Other Ingredients: Mint oil, partly dementholised, Star anise oil, Levomenthol, Indigo carmine (E-132), Quinoline yellow (E-104), Sodium saccharin (E-954), Tartaric acid (E-334), Sucrose, Liquid glucose.
Can Chloralieve be used during pregnancy or breast feeding?
It is not advised to use these lozenges during pregnancy or breast feeding, always speak with your doctor or our pharmacist for more information before taking these.

Not to be used in children under the age of 12.
