History

Peak Pharmacy was founded in 1981 and is based in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. It has grown via merger and acquisition from a single pharmacy into the business it is today with over 140 pharmacies and an online pharmacy. It serves communities across the Midlands, Greater Manchester and Milton Keynes.

For many years we have delivered a friendly healthcare service, at the heart of many communities and this is thanks to the great team of people who work so hard and loyally for the Company.

The most significant pharmacy chains who have joined Peak Pharmacy as part of that journey have been:

• Tims & Parker
• Manor Pharmacy
• Cox & Robinson
• Brennan’s
• Murrays

Tims and Parker was founded in Salford, Manchester, but had previously existed as two separate groups, one of which was a long-established family business in the area. They merged with Peak Pharmacy in 2001.

Peak Pharmacy further expanded with the acquisition of Manor Pharmacy, Cox & Robinson and Brennan’s in 2016.

Manor Pharmacy was founded in 1960 and had branches throughout Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Cox & Robinson is the elder statesman of the group, having been founded in 1760 with twelve branches around Milton Keynes and Banbury.

The most recent arrival was the merger of Peak Pharmacy with Murrays Pharmacy. Murrays was founded as a family business in Tipton in the West Midlands in 1920. It had 24 pharmacies serving communities across the West Midlands and Worcestershire.

All of our pharmacies now trade as Peak Pharmacy and the Company’s administrative centres are in Chesterfield and Manchester, with wholesale distribution centres in Chesterfield and Ilkeston.
Despite its growth and the changing aspects of pharmacy, Peak Pharmacy remains a family-based business due to the continual involvement of the Directors, Peter, Jane and Joe.
