A child can be administered Ibuprofen if –
The dosage for a child of this age is ONE 2.5ml quantity, followed by another 4-6 hours later if required.
Ibuprofen should not be given to a child if they are asthmatic (Unless the Doctor has prescribed it)
Both Paracetamol and Ibuprofen are effective pain killers for infants, as long as they fit in the catagories above.
Please ensure that you NEVER give Aspirin as a pain killer to a child under 16 (unless prescribed by a doctor).
